Delano, Minnesota, boasts a rich tapestry of arts and cultural events that reflect the community’s creative spirit. From visual arts to music festivals, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the year.
Delano Sculpture & Blues Fest
Each year, the Delano Area Council for Arts and Culture hosts the Sculpture & Blues Fest, a celebration that combines visual arts with live blues music. Attendees can tour new and existing sculptures, explore an art market featuring local vendors, and enjoy performances by artists like the Joyann Parker Band and Trent Romens Band. This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central MN Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Community Mural Paint Project
In honor of Delano’s 150th anniversary, local artist LeAnna Wurzer leads a large-scale mosaic mural project. Community members of all ages are invited to paint 3″x3″ canvases, which will be assembled into a unique mural to be unveiled at the Annual Community Art Show in October 2026 and permanently displayed in the Delano Public Library. This initiative is supported by Arts & Cultural Heritage Funds from Minnesota’s Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment.
Delano’s Historic 4th of July Celebration
Delano hosts Minnesota’s oldest and largest Fourth of July celebration, founded in 1857. The event features live music, American Legion baseball games, and a historic parade, all honoring the nation’s independence and Delano’s community spirit.
These events, among others, showcase Delano’s commitment to fostering a vibrant arts and culture scene, inviting residents and visitors alike to participate and celebrate the community’s creative endeavors.
